The spindle is a mechanical device that is installed on machine tools such as parallel and vertical lathes, milling machines, and machining centers. Generally, a self-centering machine is mounted on the spindle, which allows you to fix a tool with which you will then perform the desired machining.
The spindles can be self-centering (3 or 4 jaws with double guide or single guide) or not self-centering (electrospindle).

Differences between platform spindle:

Spindle: generally equipped with 3 jaws (rarely found at 4 jaws), they have clamps that move simultaneously.

Plateau: equipped with 4 jaws, the clamps move manually one by one.
