A press brake is a machine widely used in sheet metal processing, it is a bending process, used for longer and thinner sheets.
But how does it work?
The lower part of the press contains a V-shaped groove. The upper part of the press contains a punch that presses on the plate resting in the v-groove to bend it.
Press brakes can perform a variety of different bends on many different types of metals. When setting up a bending process, it is important to consider the type of metal being bent, the mold, the punch, and the bending force.
The operator's task:
The operator has the sole task of having to select and install the various molds and activate the pressing cycle via buttons or foot switch and finally remove the completed sheet
